What it is

Faculty of 1000 (F1000) is an online review publisher. Each F1000 Review can related to a DOI. The F1000 source records the links between F1000 reviews and the articles that they review.

What it does

The Agent extracts links from the F1000 database. F1000 assign DOIs to their reviews and also use DOIs to refer to articles.

Where data comes from

F1000 provide Crossref with a periodic data dump.

Methodology

Every 10 days the Agent retrieves the F1000 data dump and extracts all new links.

Evidence Record

• Includes batches of url type observations that correspond to the F1000 dump.

Edits / deletion

• Events may be edited if they are found to be faulty, e.g. non-existent DOIs

Quirks

F1000 Reviews was renamed Faculty Opinions in 2020 and the F1000 agent with this name has been retired.

Failure modes

• F1000 data dump might not be up to date.
